Why Putin Is Hosting a Meeting of the Nazis

And by the way:

The Russian authorities are hosting tomorrow a meeting of Europe’s neo-Nazis, extreme nationalists, and anti-Semites who share one thing in common – their unqualified support for Vladimir Putin.

Putin needs to make sure that no Western leader will come to Russia in May to attend the celebration of the victory over Nazism. He does all he can to make it impossible for anyone to show up. This meeting is one useful trick that will promote this goal.

And when nobody comes to the celebration, he will be able to exclaim in triumph, “See? Nobody wants to celebrate the victory over Nazism. That’s because the West is Nazi! And it is up to us to defend the legacy of anti-Nazism. Let’s do our grandfathers proud and continue their sacred fight against Nazism.”

The people of Russia will lap it all up, and the Russian troops will move on the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.

Another benefit of supporting European neo-Nazis is that their success at the polls will justify Russia’s hostility towards their countries.

P.S. Russia’s Twitter users were told today that any tweet that mentions the word “Nazism” will leave its author open to charges of promoting Nazism.

But what if they actually mean what they say, if it is not a complete propaganda bubble? What if they are actually planning on freeing the Europe from anything that does not qualify as “traditional values”? And also from the “American Domination”? Note that American and supposedly pro-American right-wingers (from the Tea Party to Baltic nationalists, who otherwise would fit nicely into that crowd) were not invited…

  Can you imagine Russians even trying to go in the direction of “traditional values”? What, they will quit boozing, drugging and whoring and will march to a church service instead? 🙂

I was somewhat sarcastic about “traditional values”. The most traditional of all traditional values are anti-immigrant sentiments. As well as anti-feminist ones. You know, Kinder, Ku”che, Kirche may sound awfully attractive at the times of significant unemployment… This is not about the conflict between West and East, it is about the conflict between those who adapt to the modern world and those who do not, and seek solutions in the return to the past…

  I agree completely but as for the “Kinder, Ku”che, Kirche” model, I can only see the Russian women go for the 4 component, which was the dresses. I forget how that is in German.

    Kleider? Details may vary, the point is to provide jobs to the men and dresses to the women, to be beautiful and not aim for the jobs.

      Who’s going to feed them all then? It’s not like the men are very likely to start working all of a sudden. If the oil stayed at $100+ per barrel indefinitely, then maybe. Otherwise, somebody will have to keep working, even if the effort invested into work will be minimal.
