When the participants in the 2015 Deaflympics disembarked in Russia, they were greated by a group of singers who tried to entertain the deaf athletes with Russian folk songs.
This insensitivity has been very characteristic of the Russian attitude to the world: we’ll inflict exhibitions of our patriotism on you whether you want it or not and just try not be joyful in response.
And the first thing some morons will say is that “these chicks are hot” 😥

Yes, there is no shortage of beautiful women in Russia. Men, not so much, especially since I took away my husband. 🙂
It’s such a common thing in Russia to see an incredibly beautiful, put-together, elegant and fashionable woman walking by the side of a butt-ugly, smelly, horrible guy in old and stretched out tracksuit pants and a dirty T-shirt.

If they put the emphasis on dancing with some sign language interpreters (even if the arrivals didn’t understand Russian sign language) then it would be okay.
But something tells me it was a bunch of people standing around singing and the deaf people are supposed to be interested in how their lips move….
