I don’t subscribe to the school of criticism that values authorial intention above all. The way a work of art impacts me is of a greater interest than what the author might have wanted. And this stone pleases me.

Here are also some spring flowers:

Not as patriotic as the stone but still pretty.

Daffodils are very pretty. They currently make London along with the plum trees a very nice place to be…. I’ve never been to Ukraine but in my mind is a nice place full of long sunflower fields…

      Oh, the sunflower fields…

But I’m sure the UK will still be pretty when I show up in July.

What’s the deal with sunflowers, anyway? The Ukrainian Catholic school in my backyard has an annual sunflower festival every August.

Sorry, pressed the wrong key. Ukrainian food raises blood pressure a lot, and sunflower seeds are a natural way to lower it. Plus, we have food trauma because of the Holodomor, and sunflower seeds are an easy and healthy way to address oral anxieties. It’s like a healthy version of smoking.
