My stylist, the one who owns the salon I patronize, opened a free daycare on the premises because several of her workers are single parents and it will be great for them to spend time with their kids in between clients.

Why is that evil? Lack of quality and affordable daycare for workers is a major issue in the US.

The title is a sarcastic reference to the barrage of articles on “evil salon owners” that everybody has been reading and commenting in the past two weeks. One was published in NYTIMES, one in Salon, I think, and there were many spinoffs.
