The Pope’s Dem Fandom

All of these so-called Liberals who are peeing themselves with delight over the Pope’s visit demonstrate how easily they sell out the interests and the dignity of women. The Pope is militant and very aggressive in his anti-woman agenda but that does not worry his Dem fans.

Women’s rights always take the back seat to absolutely everything else.

  1. In America’s rigid two-party system, the Democrats know that people whose vote is determined primarily by social issues (abortion rights, gay rights, etc.) will always vote Democratic (or at least will never vote Republican), so the Dems don’t need to worry about those voters.

The reality is that most social issues are determined by state legislatures and ultimately settled by the courts, and the President has almost no direct influence on their outcome.

    1. The president appoints Supreme Court judges who make the most important decisions.

But I’m not even talking about politics right now. I’m talking about individuals who have polluted my blog roll with their moanings about the great progressive Pope.

  2. “The president appoints Supreme Court judges who make the most important decisions.” You’re right, but how many voters of any persuasion think that far down the line when they’re in the voting booth?

Pope Francis is progressive, compared to the Catholic Church during the Spanish Inquisition.

    1. He’s also progressive compared to the last pope. I have low expectations when it comes to popes. I was happy when the one two popes ago declared that jews are no longer officially going to hell according to the church. (I’m sure he didn’t mean me, but still…)

  3. This is what I’m saying, everyone is going crazy over this old frat just because he’s the Damn Pope it sucks. He might be just a bit more progressive than the last old dude but that’s not saying much, all the popes are these old dudes living in their gilded cage far away from the common people and the Vatican has more scandals than your common soap opera. I’m not a Christian, so the big concern for me living in the NYC area is the buses are all late because of the security measures around the old man. 😀
