I just found out about the 13 people murdered at a community college in Oregon.
I’m absolutely shocked and horrified that it is legal in some states to bring firearms to campus. This is a perversion of incredible magnitude.
Fuck the losers who promote this barbarity.
I didn’t know about it until I read your post. So so sad. And the disgusting this is? I think it’s legal in most states to bring firearms to a campus. To my mind no guns in churches, hospitals, schools, or bars seems reasonable. But for these gun nuts, there is no regulation that is acceptable. I am absolutely sickened by the excessive gun violence in this country. I don’t even know what to day.

The community college in question already banned guns on campus.

The problem is that the state allows it. A college can oppose nothing to an entire in-state culture as I’m discovering here in Illinois.

I need to double check this, but I read that in Oregon, public universities/colleges can’t enact a total ban on guns (as a result of a court ruling from a few years back) and that at Umpqua you’re allowed to conceal-carry with a valid gun license on campus (but not bring the gun into any of the buildings).
