The NYTIMES reports that Marco Rubio is emerging as the Republicans’ most serious candidate.
I can just imagine Putin grinning and baring his teeth as he prepares to snap this earnest little boy in half. There are rumors that Putin likes little boys in a way that is not hugely healthy.
Hey, he’s 44 years old (middle-aged) — it’s not a crime to look young!
If Bush keeps faltering, Rubio has a real shot at the nomination. The fact that he’s of Cuban heritage and has moderate views on immigration could be a big help in getting Hispanic votes.

It’s not the age, it’s the earnestness that reminds me of Young Pioneers back in the USSR. It doesn’t help that he keeps mentioning his parents all the time. It’s like, hey, have you got anything to say for yourself or is it all Mom and Dad?
And Hispanic people would not go for a white Cuban boy unless they are white Cuban boys themselves. Cubans are not very popular with non-Cubans.

Well, of the six Republican candidates getting at least 6% in the current polls (Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Rubio, Bush, and Cruz), the only two I can foresee as having a realistic chance at winning the national election are Rubio and Bush.
This is assuming that the Democrats aren’t suicidal enough to nominate Sanders. (They won’t.)
Rubio’s main problem is his relative lack of political experience. Presidents in their mid-forties (John Kennedy, Obama in recent memory) have traditionally done a terrible job.
