I saw an anti-Trump ad on TV and I wonder who the intended audience is supposed to be.
The ad tells people not to vote for Trump because “he doesn’t care about us; he only cares about himself”, “he’s selfish”, and “he stole a house from a widow using eminent domain”. The language of caring and the concern for a widow make the ad sound like it is aimed at the “love and kindness” crowd that is already voting for another party.
What the point could be of airing an anti-Trump ad that is only likely to appeal to bleeding-heart Liberals is a mystery. Trump appeals to so many people because he speaks their language. And it’s pretty clear that this language is not that of condemning the selfishness of people who trample all over innocent widows.
Who sponsored the ad, did it say? Perhaps ita an ad trying to rally the Democratic base? There are quite a few (deeply misguided in my view) Sanders supporters who are threatening to vote third party, write-in Sanders, or not vote at all, if H. Clinton wins the Democratic nomination. Such people say that there is no difference/very little difference between Clinton and Trump or between she and the Republicans more generally. This ad might be pushing back on that narrative by attacking Trump?

I’m afraid of being mistaken but I think it was something like “Conservatives against Trump.” The ad was generally mumbly. There was one part of it that I didn’t even understand. They say they want to destroy Trump but they are not doing a very good job of it.

Have there been any ads to the tune of “Trump thinks you’re a schmuck?” or “Trump’s running a long con on you?”
That might work. Nobody cares about inconsistency but they do care if they’re the butt of a joke or a scam.

Or “Trump thinks American women are not good enough and only sleeps with immigrants! “

They just help him more. Like romney’s speech today. The establishment in the republican party are truly wealthy crony capitalists. I am a very “conservative” economically minded person, pro-busienss (anti-wall street because that is primarily cronyism), and I absolutely despise the two party system. The point is there is such an anti-estabishment vote that I think Trump can definitely beat hillary. If She’s indicted you agree its done right?
Giving the staffer who set up the email server immunity is a big deal…they are seriously considering charging her.

Of course, Hillary will beat Trump. Anybody with a pulse will beat him. And a few people without one will, too. 🙂
And the email thing is a waste of time. Nobody cares.

No Democrats care. The FBI is taking the issue quite seriously.

This email thing, it doesn’t hurt her politically because people who think it’s an issue are dumbs who wouldn’t have voted for her anyway. But it’s legal trouble. Like, what happens if FBI charges her or someone very close to her?

Then the Democratic establishment panics, like the Republicans are panicking now, and Joe Biden enters the race to save the election!
You’re right — this has got to be the most entertaining election season in living memory. 🙂
