Part of the reason why Bernie Sanders is getting out the youth vote so effectively is that his campaign knows how to reach out to young people. I constantly get personalized text messages from the Sanders campaign. The Clinton campaign, on the other hand, never sends text messages. It only seems interested in old fogeys who still read emails.

Overall, the Clinton campaign hasn’t been effective either in reaching out to potential supporters or getting the campaign paraphernalia  (stickers, etc) to donors.

I hope you’re right! I like Bernie so much that this year I voted for the first time ever in the Democratic primary here in Arizona (we’re an open primary state), and Grandpa Trotsky got my vote for the nomination.

Here’s hoping he smashes Hillary in the big primaries tomorrow. 🙂

Nah, he just wants a less electable democratic nominee. The hate is strong.

I know. I was just trying to make it sting a bit. 🙂

No hatred on my part, Stringer Boy — you’re the one who keeps projecting the anger. I just think this election is hilariously funny! 🙂

You think I really care that much who wins? The outcome of this election isn’t going to affect my lifestyle — or my net worth — AT ALL.

Breaking news: Area man totally unconcerned with the outcome of elections goes out of his way to vote in the primaries of a party he hates.

Show me a quote that says I hate the Democrats, Stringer Clown.

You really need help with your adolescent anger management — can’t find a good shrink there in San Bernardino? Try Loma Linda Medical Center.

That’s how we do it in America, comrade.

Facebook decided it really wanted to remind everyone living in a state with a primary and of the appropriate age that a primary is today. They also asked if I’m voting and had a link to help me find my polling place. Their algorithms must be really improving? I haven’t turned on geolocation on my phone and I don’t use their app. I don’t tag my location and I haven’t told Facebook on my profile where I live.

I’ve heard nothing from Sanders or Clinton via text. Perhaps it’s opt-in? I get tons of emails regarding Sanders because once you sign one petition or volunteer once to build a house everyone sends your information around. :p

They may get that information from ISP’s.

That’s probably it. I’ve signed on from computers while on vacation and sometimes Facebook will ask me to confirm I own the account by identifying my friends by their profile picture even if my password is correct. Do you use IP spoofers or VPNs?

Yes, I get a lot of emails, too. But it’s not a good way to connect with young people.

Not to imply that you are old or anything.

This didn’t come out very well.

Heh. Texts are actually a pretty effective way to remind people of something because texts stop your phone in its tracks and most people carry their cell phone on their person or near their person constantly.

Yes. If Hillary is not as successful as one could hope, part of it is that the campaign is not very well organized. Where those massive donations we keep hearing are going is a mystery.
