OK, I’m vaguely aware of David French’s wife, but who the hell is he? All I know of him is that he’s got serious psychological issues and is terrified Nancy will cheat on him through Facebook. How could it occur to anybody to get him to run for president? It would make more sense to get Nancy (the wife) to do it. At least, you can easily explain who she is.

The only thing I know I know about David French is that he lives in the once-tiny Tennessee town where I was born seven decades ago — never heard of him or his wife at all.
Certain Republican “establishment” idiots like Bill Kristol apparently want to run somebody — ANYBODY — as an alternative to the abomination Trump, so the Republican brand won’t be stained by Trump’s mark.
If their real goal is to get Hillary elected so the Republicans can try again in four years, why don’t they just advise purists like themselves to vote Democratic this year?

Well David French has a regular column in the National Review. So I think people who follow conservative news know who he is. He’s like a less famous version of George Will (if George Will was a religious fanatic). I think Nancy French is mainly known to people who like to read blogs and Patheos–or that’s how I know her anyway.
But you are right: there is no way that French will win the presidency. I don’t know why Kristol just doesn’t throw his support behind the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson…………….But this is good news for Liberals. Split that conservative vote! 😉
