Sad about BLM

Sadly, the BLM movement has been hijacked by self-promoting idiots and has degenerated into sheer ridiculousness. Once you start equating the murders of innocent unarmed teenagers with entirely legitimate police action against gun-brandishing child abusers like Korryn Gaines, you lose all legitimacy. And the same goes for the Milwaukee debacle. 

And I absolutely insist that the movement started out being about something else entirely and aiming to do some really important things. 

Anybody who wants to chirp that they knew from the start it wouldn’t work out, please go stuff yourself. I’m being sad here. And hey, people failed but at least they tried to do something. That’s better than just sitting there and crowing “I told you so.”

    And now, even the “Anarchist” (sic) Stephan Molyneux pontificates that BLM is a terrorist organization.

    I have no specific plan but the last two years I’ve tried to become a Cégep teacher in Mathematics but even my program’s direction doesn’t want to to day any trainee teaching because of the conflicts with the Economics Department. Right now, I try to become great in English and I discovered that I’m more passionate about Mathematics than I’vethought. I don’t think I will try for the Ph. D. (although you never know…) again. I can’t deal with lies and political shenanigans within the academia.

    And like I’ve said elsewhere:

    15 years ago, I would have made 100K/year with my education. In 2013, some freakazoid post-doctoral student told me that I’ll make 150K with all my credentials in econometry, and I literally laughed at him (instead of punching him in the face), because I knew that this was utterly stupid! Right now, it’s even impossible to do 25K, and I can’t even be a Cégep teacher or a statistical research assistant although I kick ass in both.

    But all is not so bad. At 40 years old, my mother made the greatest gift that she could give to me: a Asperger’s diagnosis in the private sector. I have to wait 9 more month but it would be way worse in our public Soviet-style health system in Québec. After that, It will be more easy to me to enter in welfare…

      I agree completely about the Soviet-style public health system in Québec. 😦 You’ve got to go private if you want anything done. And hey, your English improved so much that it’s like a different person writing. It’s super impressive. Getting hired at a Cégep is notoriously hard but hey, with your resilience and strength you will come out on the winning side of this for sure.

      I know that academia mangled you and it’s a ridiculous thing that happened to you. But I believe in you. You’ll find a way out of this.
