Out of Aleppo

Mike Pence is saying on TV right now that the goal of his ticket in Syria is to create a safe way for people out of Aleppo. Of course, by January there will be no Aleppo because Trump’s boyfriend Putin will raze it to the ground. But it’s curious how faithfully Pence has learned to spout the talking points that Putin will love. All Putin wants is for more Syrians to leave their cities and towns and go to Germany. “Out of Aleppo” means “into Europe.”

I’m sure Pence is too dumb to understand whose interests he’s unwittingly been recruited to serve. But gosh, these people are so easy to manipulate. Poor confused Trump was still insisting from stage yesterday that Russia is fighting ISIS in Syria.

And this is what the US has become. How sad. Who really won the Cold War if Russian politicians say whatever they want while American politicians say what the Russians want?

  1. “Out of Aleppo” means “into Europe.”

“while American politicians say what the Russians want?”

Like Hillary Clinton who looks up to Angela Merkel, who has been, wittingly or not, Putin’s greatest enabler in wrecking the EU?

And they caught the Syrian member of the Merkeljugend who had been making bombs in Chemnitz (the former Karlmarxstadt)

This is the third terror-involved Syrian arrival in Germany since July. Why does Hillary Clinton not disavow Angela Merkel and her horrible pro-Putin policies?

    1. Why would Hillary want to strengthen the pro-Putin parties in Germany? That would be a bizarre thing to do.

The only way to at least somewhat diminish the flow of refugees into Europe is to stop Putin. The only person who will at least maybe try to do it is Hillary.

As for Trump, his childish lies about the wall on the border notwithstanding, all he will do is bring an enormous flow of refugees from Central America into the US. All they need is another blow to the economy, just one blow. When Trump delivers it, prepare for the refugees.

Trump is the most pro-uncontrolled-immigration candidate ever. Merkel is nothing compared to him. Because he will create the objective conditions for enormous migratory flows. And best of all, he won’t do it unconsciously. A huge number of desperate refugees means crowds of very cheap workers for him. As much as he panders to the deplorables, it’s not like he’s ever been in any hurry to hire them.

Merkel made it possible for Putin to use pseudo-refugees and the chaos they create as a weapon to destabilize the EU. That’s on her. No one made her do it (as far as we know) and she’s an idol of Hillary (still).

“The only way to at least somewhat diminish the flow of refugees into Europe is to stop Putin.”

Actually enforcing border regulations as suggested by Orban would have worked but that was nixed by Merkel.

Given what she did to Libya I’m sure that after she got through with Syria millions more Syrians (and Iraqis and Lebanese and Jordanians etc would be in Europe or the US and ISIS would be stronger than ever. I have no faith in her tactical prowess….

She’s still marginally the better choice but the choice between shit and crap is still crap….. the country is so screwed……

      2. If Trump hired Americans. just like if he bought all of his materials from America, it would make it harder for him to compete with companies that hire cheap illegal labor and foreign steel.

Merkel could also have not invited refugees into Germany. Like Cliff said they could actually enforce border regulations. If Hungary and Israel can do it so can we. In Australia Tony Abbott sent the boats back and fixed the problem there. Even though I don’t like Putin, he is not the only variable in the migrant/ illegal immigrant situation. I have not seen any indication Hilary Clinton will have a Victor Orban like stance on illegal immigration.

I don’t think a wall is impossible. China built an even longer wall 2,221 years ago. Technology has improved a lot since then. Today Israel has walls, Hungary has barriers, and even Mexico has a wall on it’s southern border.

        1. So since nobody wants to lose money, nobody will hire the deplorables. Hungary and Israel are very unattractive to immigrants for obvious reasons. Israel has to hunt people down and beg them to come. It’s beyond strange to compare Israel and piss-poor Hungary with its unlearnable language to the US as a destination point for migrants.

All countries are different. Some are attractive to migrants and some aren’t.

I hear a group of confused Iraqis somehow ended up in Ukraine, so they were all like, “Please, can we go back to Baghdad now? ‘Cause that was more fun.”

And you know who else is very strong on refugees? Penguins in the Antarctica. No refugees there, that’s for sure. Penguins are standing strong.

Thank you, I was very tired but now I’m totally awake. Good times! 😆😆😆😆😆

          1. Hungary is a good comparison since they are comparatively much poorer, yet they are still able to create physical barriers on the border.

” nobody wants to go there. It’s all a sham.”

Have you ever been in Hungary? Ive been there a number of times and there are immigrants. Not at the level of wealthy western countries but they’re a visible presence in the larger cities.

Some of them are a result of old Warsaw pact education agreements (that is relations established then which still provide immigrants) and some are from other places.

Arabs (Iraqis and Syrians) dominated the currency exchange business in Budapest for many years until bank machines and credit cards mostly put them out of business.

The largest group now are probably Vietnamese, who specialize in small businesses selling groceries, household items or clothes. Vietnamese immigrants can be found all through central europe.
No one cares because they work hard, use almost no social services except the public schools where they send their children without making weird demands about food or how they should dress.

You might think of Vietnamese as second class non-cool immigrants but they do fine in Hungary.

              2. I know you’ve said that, but I think you are wrong on this one. Just today I opened up the paper to a story about Hungarian police exposing a “vast and ruthless network” of migrants.

                Here is the article: http://www.wsj.com/articles/probe-into-deaths-of-migrants-in-hungary-uncovers-vast-network-1476291857

I did a Google search and divided Hungarian GDP per capita (13,480.91 USD), by Ukraine’s GDP per capita (3,900.47 USD). Hungary’s GDP per capita is 3.5 times that of Ukraine. Not the greatest but much better than other places. The article stated Afghans were caught. That country has a GDP per capita of 664 USD.

Geographically Hungary is located between the Middle East and Germany. Even if Hungary doesn’t give enough welfare money for the migrants to stay, it is a place where migrants pass through.

                • That’s exactly my point. Who’s the fool that wants to stay in Hungary when Germany with its enormous welfare state is right there, so close? And Sweden is not that far away either.

              4. Transient migrants can still be a threat to the safety of Hungarians. Hungary putting resources into border controls still makes a difference. If there are physical barriers and the Hungarian police are known for exposing people smuggling, more migrants will choose not to go through Hungary.

Merkel and Obama don’t seem to care about the safety of ordinary citizens.

It is too bad countries like Greece and other European nations are not taking the migrant crisis as seriously as Hungary.

              5. I think you have lost the thread of what we are discussing. The conversation started when I said it makes no sense to compare countries that are a desirable destination for migrants with countries that are not. What Orban does is cheap posturing, given that there is zero threat of migrants wanting to stay in Hungary. He is using the kind of rhetoric that he does to serve purposes that are completely internal and have nothing to do with migrants. Just like the Israeli government, he can’t afford to confess that the country is unappealing to migrants. So he fakes a reality that doesn’t exist to make his compatriots feel better. None of this is even remotely similar to what happens in rich countries such as the US.

So will Hillary, the elite in both the US and Europe are bound and determined to eliminate as many borders as possible* and nothing seems to get through to them that it’s not a good idea (because they won’t be personally affected).

*It’s the geopolitical equivalent of estimadxs…. virtue signallying for their peers with no regard for real world consequences.

  3. “I still haven’t gotten over the image of hordes of immigrants desperate to get to Hungary”

The flow of Merkeljugend was stuck in Hungary (which was following international legal norms on processing people who claim to be refugees).

Merkel then said they’re all welcome in Germany and more or less instructed Hungary to not enforce its non-Schengen borders at which point the dam broke.
