Trump has infected my mind with his verbal tics. I heard myself speak and knew it reminded me of something.
And that’s when the French invaded. So horrible. But the people of Spain decided to fight. So brave. That was so brave. Totally.
I’m scaring myself with this. Maybe I shouldn’t watch the debate on Wednesday.
But the debate will be terrific. Let me tell you. It’ll be terrific.

So good. We’ll make debating great again. Really great.

Hey, repetition works. That’s right, mi profesora, repetition works.
In your Spanish 101 classes, don’t you drill nouns like the days of the week, and then present-tense clauses like “I am, you are, he/she is” into your students’ heads by repeating the same words over and over.
Let me repeat, repetition works. Works with students. Works with voters, too.
Surely, you’ve heard the formula for an effective speech:
Tell them what you’re going to say.
Say it.
Then tell them what you’ve said.
Do I need to say it again?

\ Do I need to say it again?
Do say.
It’s so nice
To hear the same thing twice
Or thrice.
We’ve all heard
What happens to a dream deferred
But what’s the fate of the speech
unheard?

Spanish history in the XXth century according to Trump:
Century got off to a bad start. We had just kicked their asses! We’d taken Cuba from them and then we gave it to the communists. How did that happen? We got Puerto Rico… maybe should have given that one back, bum investment. We got Phillipines…. good maids and nurses, so there’s that.
Then out of nowhere! Terrible war, what a waste. Killing and bombs. Communists! Good thing they didn’t win.
And then get this, this crazy “artist” does this giant painting yuuge but it’s awful! Just nuts! A bull in church! My five year old could do better! Not a pretty girl in the whole thing. Not even nice colors, just black and white terrible painting, just terrible.
Franco, such a great man. A giant! He kept people safe! Great leader. Taken from us too soon. So sad, tragic waste… it was probably communist sabotage. He didn’t have first rate people around him. Let him down. He didn’t know how to hire good people. Bad mistake.
And then they get the crazy Basques! Bombs all over the place, boom! boom! BOOM! Nasty people, no respect for the law. Franco maybe could have done more, not gonna second guess him, but… I wouldn’t have let them do their bombs everywhere like he did, maybe getting old.
Then there was a king…. not gonna BS you, I’m not a big fan, but okay for a king, a guess. Wife…. not so hot. A king should be able to do better, but nice kids. A daughter I might date… maybe not. Spanish chicks, they don’t age so well. There’s a tendency to fat.
Then they join the EU. Good idea? Not so sure. Jury’s out.

Oi. 🙂
Since my knowledge of Spanish history is almost non-existent, I thought the timeline was correct at first and felt confused at the appearance of monarchy in modern times.

Spain brought back the monarchy after the fascist dictator Franco died.

Cliff . . . you are freakishly good at this. Anyone can sound like Trump for a couple of sentences, but that was amazing!
