Basket of Adorables

β€πŸ’˜β€ Hillary’s Putin jokes.

This was a fine routine.

  1. Gee, no comments about this political “comedy” show — guess none of your regular readers were masochistic enough to watch it after getting through last night’s debate!

I’m watching a gory 1973 horror movie called “The Sentinel” instead — definitely more entertaining than seeing either Trump or Hillary again so soon.

  2. Oh, I’ll watch it for sure. Didn’t think it would be worth watching live.

The only thing I’ve watched live in the last year is political debates. For everything else there’s youtube.

  3. Nah, “The Sentinel” is more entertaining — staring Burgess Meredith as a kindly old man (a cat owner) trying to drive the heroine to suicide because she’s unknowingly blocking the gateway from Hell, and keeping all the demons from escaping into the world.

Sort of a metaphor for this election, anyway.

    1. So, are you watching this film or boring us with yet another post about how you don’t even care about anything related to the election?

  4. Trump being his usual grumpy self, it seems. Is this asshole even capable of showing another side to himself? Maybe there isn’t another side to him.

    1. I’m sure he wrote all the angry, mean parts himself. “Hillary hates Catholics! She is corrupt!” Ha ha, how funny.

And Giuliani never heard of humor either. He was making faces at jokes about himself. Nasty creature.

      1. You can never be funny if you can’t laugh at yourself first.

Which explains (only partly, though) why conservatives aren’t funny.

  5. Watched her bit. You know, it’s little things like this that makes me like her so much more. We know she’s not a ‘natural’ at this. Comedy is way out of her comfort zone. And this dinner has no bearing on the elections. But she still cares and she shows up prepared and fucking delivers.

This is such an underrated quality. Whether it is debates, or town halls or rallies or a comedic performance at a dinner, she’s just driven to do the best. And that is simply admirable.

No matter what your political differences with her (and I have many) if you can’t appreciate this, you’re a soulless fucking loser.

    1. I agree. I love how seriously she takes every challenge. What a wonderful and hopeful comment, Stringer Bell. πŸ™‚

  6. “Ah, Stringer Boy, still posting selfies from the San Bernardino Zoo?”

Someone explain this ‘joke’ please. What’s the punchline here? What’s the set up? Have I ever talked about taking selfies of myself? Are the monkeys in the picture taking a selfie?

Oh, I get it. What almost got you banned last time was calling me a monkey-worshipper. So instead of saying it, you’re just posting money pictures.

Lookie here, Dreidel made a funny!

    1. Gosh, it’s that monkey think again? What does it even mean? And do I want to find out? Are the four wives to be trotted out next?

Woe be unto me, my basket of adorables is being shat into.

      1. He’s just obsessed. Always mentions the San Bernardino zoo and always mentions monkeys.

Dude, there are other attractions where I live. Why, Puente Hills is not too far and it’s the biggest landfill in southern california!

Dude, you’re quite right. One of them is Patton State Hospital (or the “Southern California State Asylum for the Insane and Inebriates,” as it was originally known). I was a staff psychiatrist there from 1974-1976, earned a salary of $1,ooo a week back when that was a LOT of money, and despite having a solid career there including a then-sound state retirement plan, gave that civilian career path up because I wanted to serve my country and join the U.S. Air Force, where I spent the next 21 years all over the world.

Probably never never met you in the hospital, since you’ve obviously too young, and in any case we didn’t treat pediatric patients there.

But you can’t deny that PSH is one of the more impressive attractions in your neighborhood. Ever pay it a visit?

    1. I always wanted to watch one. I hear that the one during the 1st Obama election was epic. But I only saw snippets on YouTube. Obama slays during these things. He has such a sense of humor!

And Hillary was very charming yesterday.

  7. I’d never heard of the dinner either before tonight! You’ve done a public service, Clarissa! Hilary looks much healthier and more energetic than Trump. Loved the Ted Cruz joke, also Trump being as healthy as the horse that Putin rides.

    1. It’s the best part of the electoral cycle (other than our candidate winning.) Usually, everybody manages to be funny. This time, Trump spoiled half of it but still it was fun.

I’ve seen them… Not great, I do Trump much better. I’ve had so many people call me up and tell me “Cliff, you are absolutely on the mark!” Famous people, names you would recognize. They support me, but the media… I won’t betray their confidence by naming names. Yhey’re afraid. I’m not afraid. But for their own safety I won’t say anything more.
