Also, I dislike the narrative that “at least, Trump recognized the suffering that fluidity is causing.” Big whoop. Bernie Sanders recognized it, too. And he was all about addressing it. That was THE central issue of his program. But he couldn’t even win the primary because his way of addressing fluidity did not include a possibility of acting out the rage against it by pouring it out against people who symbolize it.

I actually realized just yesterday that I may have been wrong about what’s going on. That is, not completely wrong but blind to one of the key elements that’s driving so many things in the world today.
What do Los Indignados, Brexit, Trump and Alternativ für Deutschland have in common?
What is it exactly that they’re all rejecting? (not fluidity per se)
I’m still thinking some of this out and will probably post on my blog in a few days…
