But that Hillary was such a hawk. It’s great that we are rid of her and will now get the super dovish Bolton.

    Guilani, being a very good law-and-order man, should become the new Attorney General.

    I almost wish Trump was more antisemitic instead of being all around populist with zero brain.

    Btw, Jared is surprisingly handsome and European-looking, the latter being relatively unusual for Israeli Jews.

      1. \ This isn’t Israel. For most Jews in America, being Jewish is not their #1 identity. It’s not even a very important thing.

        I am sure it’s important enough for those 33% of American population (your estimation), consisting of racists, who would have voted for Trump no matter what.

        Look, I am a single woman, close to his age, and I rarely find men attractive. OK? Also, Trump is ugly, and I subconsciously expected his son-in-law would be similar. So I commented on his looks. You and Clarissa were the ones to connect “surprisingly handsome” to his Jewishness.

        Jared reminded me of Daniel Radcliffe, a half-Jewish actor who played Harry Potter in all HP movies. (And is also handsome.) Or am I mistaken?

        As for European-looking, many Israeli Jews aren’t. As a single woman, I do pay attention to how men look and am more attracted to some “types” than to others. Is it a problem?

    You know, the worst danger is not Trump being ignorant now, but being unable to learn and shoulder the responsibility despite all guidance. I guess, that’s why he is so eager to let Jared and everybody else deal with stuff. The problem is Jared and many others around Trump also seem uncapable.

    1. Of course, absolutely. This is a high demand job, and Trump simply wants to be admired and not do any work. He will farm it off to people he considers loyal and they will spend all their time trying to prove who’s more loyal. The good news, though, is that national governments are increasingly irrelevant, so who cares.

  5. Fucking Neocons (especially ones with child molestor mustaches) need to be kept as far away from foreign policy as humanly possible. Every country they touch turns to shit and the miserable losers never learn from it.

    The one tiny hope I had for Trump was purging the neocons and evangelicals out of the Republican party (or into marginalized corners thereof).

    I was hoping he’d lose but shake up the party enough so that they became something a sane person could vote for (in practical political terms I’m probably closest to being a Rockefeller Republican, who were squeezed out in favor of the bible thumpers).

    All is ashes and dust….

    Giuliani would be slightly less terrible.

    The problem with electing outsiders (of Washington DC) is they don’t know anybody and don’t have the experience to evaluate people….

By the next election, Trump will fail even to try to deliver on all his promises but we’ll hear that the problem is that he isn’t a real Republican and doesn’t understand true Republicanism. Now if we elect a real Republican, all our problems will be solved. Just like we’ve seen with Bush. They all worshipped him but now it’s all “Oh I never supported him.”

      Criticising people who are Jewish (even in extremely harsh terms) is not anti-semitism.

      Claiming that the reason they deserve criticism is because they’re Jewish – yeah that’s anti-semitic. The article doesn’t seem to do that. I can easily imagine any incompetents of any race or ethnic group or religion being compared to the three stooges (cultural icons of a typical type of aggressive stupidy).

  7. Hey, welcome to the Neverland Express that will take you on a thrilling ride through American politics and into the Wide World at Large for the next four years. (Oh, take any vacant seat, it doesn’t really matter, as long as you make certain that your safety belt is buckled good and tight.)

    Expect some excessive G-forces from all the constant hard-right turns, and ignore the annoying but barely audible buzz near your left ear as harmless gnats from the vanquished Democratic Party keep trying to pull their forces to the far left, but are caught up in the much more powerful right-veering force field from the Republican juggernaut. For your own safety, remember to put on your virtual-reality headsets and static-erasing earphones when instructed.

    The world will look vastly different at the end of the ride, but if you’ve kept your seat belt fastened as instructed, you should still be in your seat and able to gape at the amazing new world view at the 2020 station. Whether the tiny gnats will have died from the centripetal force, or will have congealed into a legitimate opposing force that actually needs to be swatted down remains to see seen.

    You might even want to buy another ticket to take you all the way to the Amazing Future at the yet-to-be-constructed 2024 station. You definitely won’t recognize any of the futuristic wonders outside that station after such a fantastic eight-year ride!

    So buckle up!

        1. It’s only been a week since the election.

          Everything looks like Dunning-Kruger, and when you only have a hammer everything looks like a nail.

          Besides, don’t you keep repeating we truly keep finding what matches our world-view? Republicans have been blabbering about how incompetent and terrible government is ad infinitum.. So either they think this is wonderful and better or they just confirms their worldview that government can’t do anything right.
