I have seen a lot of childfree people, IRL and online, get really offended when somebody mentions that you don’t know how much you can love someone until you have a child. But people (at least those who are not a$$holes) don’t say this to put childfree people down, but because it’s really true. You may love your parents, siblings, friends, and partner deeply, whether or not you have kids. But the love for one’s kids is a completely different, bigger category. You can think of it as leveling up in a video game of love, and there is this hidden level, accessed only a specific way, that just completely blows the player away. This level is very different and more awesome than the rest of the game, and is almost impossible to describe to anyone who hasn’t played that level yet.
