After the first episode, I’m not sure I want to keep watching. The show is depressing as hell. It was clear from the logic of the original show that Roby was going to be a failure – everybody’s too rich in the family for a different result – but why is everybody else so pathetic? I feel like I’m about to cry. Of course, I’m at that stage of sleeplessness when I can’t fall asleep even when Klara is sleeping or not even at home but still, the show is sad.
I can’t believe you aren’t blogging about the big election tomorrow: the one in the House of Representatives between Nancy Pelosi and Tim Ryan for House Minority Leader.
The entire future of the Democratic Party — and the manner and effectiveness of its resistance against the overwhelming forces of Trump and the Republicans — depend on the outcome! 🙂

Honestly, I’m not even aware. But good luck to them.

The House Democrats re-elected 76-year-old California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi as Minority Speaker today, defeating a bid by 43-year-old Tim Ryan (congressman from Ohio) to replace her. Ryan had argued that younger, fresher leadership from a non-coastal state would be needed to take the Democrats in a new direction after the electoral disaster, but the Democrats evidently felt that the experienced status quo was the preferred route.
Several conservative pundits have tweeted the Democrats to thank them for re-electing Pelosi! 🙂

I have no idea who this Ryan is. And I don’t think that “I’m completely unknown and 12 years old” is a great argument for this position.

Whereas, “I’ve presided over four failed Congressional elections in a row” is a good reason to re-elect Pelosi, so the Dems can keep on following the same winning strategy! 🙂
