Weird Turned Out Great

Turns out my weird day was actually a sign of brilliant intuition. Everybody who did manage to drive wherever they wanted to got hopelessly stuck. The roads got frozen over and turned into an ice-skating rink. It’s taking everybody 5-6 hours to get home.

I’m now super glad I didn’t spend the day in a neighboring town. I can’t take two steps on this ice. Driving on it would be impossible.

It’s possible that I heard a weather forecast, didn’t pay attention, but it stuck in my subconscious and prevented me from leaving town.

  1. My dumb rational left brain kept me from posting this yesterday:

For over 30 years my mother spent the summers travelling from Florida to the plains states and back for work (commercial art and PR is the best simple description). While in the plains states she had to travel from 100 to 300 miles between towns every few days.

She said occasionally while driving she would get the feeling that something was off or wrong (as in she should be doing what she was doing) and would do something to break things up. Sometimes that might mean turning in a small town and driving around a couple of blocks before continuing on, sometimes it might mean pulling off into a parking lot and just sitting for a few minutes.

She described it as a subjective feeling that something had gone of the tracks and by breaking up what she was doing it was setting it right again. For years I had no idea what she meant until it happened to me and I pulled off the interstate after midnight to sit in a Wal-mart parking lot for about 10 minutes.

Anyway, that’s exactly what your first post on this reminded me of….
