The Next Candidate

Marcus Lemonis from The Profit is starting his own version of The Apprentice. We’ll need a new president eventually, and this seems like the current path to the presidency.

  1. I can’t believe all the progressive Obama worshipers on this website weren’t glued to their televisions tonight, clutching a moist hanky as they lovingly watched President Obama give his ABSOLUTELY LAST, HEY-THIS IS-IT, I MEAN COMPLETELY ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT, TOTALLY FINAL FAREWELL SPEECH EVER!

That speech, so heartfelt in its bizzare mixture of hope and delusion, of exaggerated domestic claims and unacknowledged international disaster, deserves an equally heartfelt song to send Obama on his way.

So here’s my proposed farewell song to our worst foreign policy President in my entire long lifetime, who at least failed to turn the country domestically nearly as far left as he’d hoped:

  2. While most normal people would have taken this as a jest, my fear is that Democrats seriously believe that by superficially emulating Donald Trump that they have discovered the secret of his ascent to the Presidency. This is a cargo cult and yet we are to believe that this is the height of wisdom.

What the Democratic Party, which was once great, needs to do is to purge these idiots from their ranks and by this I mean the blatantly incompetent academics who currently infest their numbers.

As Thomas Sowell once said, “there are none so stupid as the intellectual”.

It is quite sad that the party I once admired has descended to such stupidity.

The real secret to Trump’s success can be summarized by a simple yet profound truth, and that is:

    LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE

  3. The Profit – and thanks for bringing it to my attention by the way, it is now my favorite reality TV show – has been that to start with, which is why you’re mentioning this now, no? There is consistent branding across the show that signals political aspirations pretty damned overtly.

    1. There will be a new show now. It will be called Partner, I think, and it will be a job interview in many stages.

I didn’t see any political aspirations in The Profit but then I always like to think well of people. ☺

I like Mark Lemonis on The Profit and I know Clarissa is joking but: Dear God, no!

      1. “Great tweet.”

Except that it isn’t true. It would have been far more clever if whoever created it hadn’t been too lazy to find a real ridiculous Trump quote to use.

        1. It is increasingly evident there is almost no difference between the news and the Trump Putin RPF at An Archive of Our Own dot org.

I do think the corruption is real and very evident even if that dossier is faker than Trump University.

        2. See, that’s the problem with the way Trump has conducted himself. He has done nothing to suggest he is beyond corruption and perversion and everything to suggest he engages in both on a regular basis. He cannot insist on the benefit of the doubt when he extends none to anyone else save himself and his extensions. He cannot decry “fake news” when he gleefully RTS and bandied about fake stories.

    1. FWIW I’m pretty sure the people cheering at Obama’s speech were not paid to be there nor did they pay to be there. Also I don’t recall a paid cheering section at his press conferences.

Well, most of them are on welfare, so they’ve already been paid off. 🙂
