One of a genre but here’s what’s interesting about the framing: 1)Nobody is directly asking these people “What do you value more than the program that is putting you in a well paying manufacturing job instead of bagging groceries/saved you and your son from an abusive relationship/saved your life after you were gang raped, or the job which you say you’ll ‘sit at home and die’ without?” I want to hear what they say in response to that instead of pretending they are all dumb naive idiots who were “mislead” or leaving readers to fill in the blanks. If you apply for actual “welfare” you know how to do some kind of rudimentary research. Commit some journalism instead of some itch scratching exercise. Who does this dance serve?
2)Where are the articles about the small business owners, well off people etc who voted for Trump? Median Trump voter income is 70k. Why not interview some accountants on Staten Island?

Exactly. The idiotic narrative that Trump is the choice of the working poor is so strong yet completely baseless. I asked the people I know who voted for Trump how they feel about the proposed budget. They love it. All they care about is paying less taxes. None of these people can even remotely be described as anything but very comfortable.
