I’m glad Russia was finally kicked out of the World Cup. But could it have been done by a country that wasn’t Nazi during WWII? Because now we won’t hear the end of it.
My Russian-language newsfeed is populated by nothing but mentions of Croatia’s behavior during WWII. It’s getting very boring.
After the suspicious match with Spain I was halfway assuming they had bought the championship (again I regard FIFA events more or less like Professional Wrestling).
And they’d find something to whine about whoever knocked them out….

There is still insistent talk of 75 million euro paid out to Spain. I didn’t watch but I hear the Spanish team looked asleep on the field.
