Here’s a nice article on the continued violence in Portland. It’s clear that the rioters are simply bored and are trying to get entertained.
Both the riots and the COVID hysteria are symptoms of societies where people don’t know how to find meaning in the midst of opulent, easy lives and try to manufacture hardship to feel important.
During childhood and adolescence my manufactured “hardship” was being interrupted during one of my favorite songs.
I would raise such a shit-fit over that I would actually throw things around the room in response.
The 1960s and 1970s were quite an emotionally tumultuous time for me.
