This is today’s map of visitors to the Ukrainian blog:

Have you noticed anything?
Yep. There are more visitors from China than from Canada. Because anything is larger than a zero. Come on, Canada, you can do better. Or it will be like the famous quote from Mike Myers:
Canada is the essence of not being. Not English, not American, it is the mathematic of not being. And a subtle flavour β weβre more like celery as a flavour.

I have now done my part! π

Itβs an insult to celery! Celery is more being something than Canada.

True but I think he meant boiled celery. π

They say something like 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border. That should tell you everything

Well, at least they are far from Moscow, which is a true blessing. π

I could run the VPN services through Canada for a few days whilst browsing the Ukrainian literature blog.
But now that I’ve said that … π
ed: “They say something like 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border.”
There are good and bad things about that.
Things you can get in a Canadian Walmart: Dettol antiseptic from the UK in reasonably big bottles.
Things you can get in an American Walmart: Reasonably priced laundry detergent in huge bulk containers.
Canadians aware of the taxes: “BUT WHAT ABOUT THE IMPORT DUTIES?”
It was still cheaper to stock up in bulk just over the border in the US in part because the bulk sizes often made it worth the trip.
Or so it was before The Great North American Border Clusterfuck.
BTW, a friend who’s stuck at a Near-Ivy sent me an interesting little bit of news: admin there has decided that The Rona is now over for everyone, and so the restrictions that have been in place stop immediately.
Given the number of foreign students they’ve had in the past, my guess is that this decision wasn’t made by admin but instead was made by the accounting advisers.
