Put a T in there. Clears up nicely.
In other news, looks like Cracker Barrel has decided to BudLight itself.
I’ve decided to be pleased by these developments. In my childhood, all the rah-rah was about big box corporate monster stores moving into town and bankrupting all the “Mom and Pop” and “Main Street” businesses.
For whatever reason, the big box corporate monsters have all decided to sappuku themselves.
One suspects it is to make way for the grand new planned order-everything-from-your-phone-and-don’t-drive economy. I don’t think that all-digital thing is gonna work out, and who knows? Maybe this will make room for the return of smaller, locally-owned businesses. Possibilities!

What I’ve noticed is a growth industry focused on face to face interactions…. big box stores and standardized corporate outlets tend to be a bit alienating (occasionally convenient but numbing in the long term).
Smaller businesses that offer personalized service with identifiable people will definitely have a future…

Have definitely been hearing a lot from people lately, that when they have a problem, with anything, they can no longer get anybody on the phone. Bank, utility company, broken product, whatever. Bank used to have a location in your town? It still does but the lobby isn’t open to the public anymore, so good luck with the cops when the security calls them after seeing you knocking on the door.
Every one of them desperate to find a business/company/service to replace the one they’re currently dealing with. I still maintain an account with my old credit union, in a town I don’t live in any more, even though it has no branch locations in my area, because when I need help with a transaction, or when something goes wrong… I can pick up the phone, call the main branch number, and talk to a live human being who is actually physically in the credit union building. That counts for a lot.
Yes, there is a future for in-person businesses. It is almost certainly not the reason for the controlled demolition of bigboxmartdom. We’ll see how it plays out, I guess.

I feel incredibly dumb, but I can’t work out the phrase. What is it supposed to be?
