I gotta say that the way Israel is conducting their response, and the apparent glee with which the IDF and Israeli government officials are celebrating the deaths of civilians, it’s becoming hard to support them. And this is coming from someone who has a bias against muslims for all the shit that they do in India.

The suez canal is effectively blocked by the houthis (who’ll stop if the Israelis stop). The government of Egypt cannot collect revenues from passing ships, which is going to have some serious consequences for their already diminished ability to feed its citizens (Egypt is the largest importer of wheat in the world). Sisi is a dictator, but he’s not a magician. He’s gonna have to react to a hungry population who is convinced it’s all Israel’s fault. So, war maybe?
I don’t know. At some point Israel has to realize that its actions have far-reaching consequences beyond the region. What’s gonna happen to the displaced palestinians? Flood them into Europe and America? That’ll be awesome!
