These are the people we subserviently warn about upcoming terror attacks on their territory because God forbid they suffer any unpleasantness during the war they started:

And what do we gain from this eager subservience? When warned by Americans about the upcoming act of terror in Moscow, Putin publicly cussed them out and is now using the warning to insinuate that Americans knew about the terror attack because they organized it in the first place.

“because they organized it in the first place”

The emerging official line seems to be something like “The US and UK (the dreaded Anglo-saxons) founded and funded an Islamist terror group headed by an anti-russian Syrian and headquartered in Ukraine. It then contracted out the attack and they were trying to get back to Ukraine as quickly as possible when they were caught (because driving through an active warzone is a totally easy thing to do.

Already starting to see it appear from the usual suspects…

Whatever happens, Russians will find a way to blame the Anglos simply because Anglos have been more successful than them at everything pretty much forever.

What’s sad is to see Americans (Michael Tracey, for instance) happily swallowing this anti – American drivel.

What always gets me is the use of the term ‘Anglo-Saxons’… to refer to the US and UK… a sure sign the author is a russian troll….

They love it, for some reason. Anglo-Saxons and the Global South are favorite terms of the Russian propaganda. Who knows why.

”Β we subserviently warn about upcoming terror attacks on their territory”

My take: Two continual mistakes the west (especially the US) keeps making about russian governments are:

-that they are acting on rational grounds and that if can be shown that the russian government will realize that and search for a more rational solution. This is one reason the US was so slow to really help Ukraine. They assumed that once the russian leadership realized that they were in over their head in Ukraine with no chance at the kind of victory they presumably wanted they would withdraw…. there are still westerners who think that….

-they assume that goodwill will be reciprocated. Biggest far from only example: the collective west (esp the US) bent over backwards to try to give russia a soft landing after the USSR and assumed that this would be appreciated. Instead it just made most russians hate the US more than they did before (narcissists hate being helped because it implies they need help which they can’t admit because they would have to let go of their illusions of grandeur).

A third might be that russia would notice that former soviet/warsaw pact countries that adopted more western ways prospered more and learn from that… instead it just increased the hate… the cognitive dissonance of russians abroad is so large that it seems to drive most of them insane (I’m not really being metaphorical here).

“We won the Cold War,” you know? Then behave like winners. Strip the losers of the very thing they relied upon to threaten you.

But no, those absolute geniuses Bush Sr and Bill Clinton rewarded Russians for losing the Cold War by giving them more nukes.

Could have solved this entire problem. Never had to think of it again. But no, instead of doing the reasonable thing, let’s invent the insane story about how “free markets lead to democracy lead to no war.”

      Idjits.

Even if they were taken away, what would have stopped Russia from building more nukes?

Poverty, brain drain. Nicaragua has no nukes and can’t export its nuttiness.

They’ve had plenty of oil money since 2000, and anyway North Korea manages to build nukes despite being poor.

They don’t need to invent anything new, just follow the old designs, so I doubt if brain drain would stop them.

“warned by Americans about the upcoming act of terror”

I’m sooooo slow…. I only now realize that the russians took the warning seriously and decided to do nothing and then find some way to blame it on Ukraine…. which is…. exactly what’s happening….

Someday I’ll figure this type of thing out more quickly.

In other happier news, Ukraine is back to attacking russian oil refineries and is currently pounding Sevastopol….

It’s really interesting who it was that the Russian idiots did catch:
