Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s family members have denounced his decision to endorse Donald Trump after he dropped out of the presidential race, calling it a “betrayal” of their family’s values.

It’s now clear why RFK is such a weirdo. He comes from a family of total weirdos who have absolutely no understanding of what a family is and how it’s appropriate to behave in public.

What a bunch of unlikeable, kooky individuals. There should be no political dynasties because this embarrassment is the only result.

    I hate to say it, but this is some typical rich and wannabe Anglo nonsense, even if the Kennedys are Irish Catholic. It’s the idea that family is so fluid that disowning members for trivial stuff is a thing, why members of this cohort almost never get together for holidays and think being close to older relatives is weird or backwards.

    Growing up I’d see sitcoms where the families hated coming together for the holidays and would threaten to kick out members for silly stuff, this is alien for someone from my background. I love getting together with my family on the holidays and the only reason I see to disown a family member is if they committed a serious crime or were a sex offender, not political differences

      They should be deeply embarrassed. They think it’s a good looking k but it’s not. Even those who cheer them on secretly think they are being cringe and distasteful.

        Yeah, the Kennedys are so insulated from normal Americans they don’t realize this looks awful and mean. RFK Jr. is an odd duck but there’s a lot of old fashioned Democrats who loath how woke the party has become, RFK Jr. is just saying how a lot of people feel

          He’s not that odd or ‘weird’ imo. He’s very intelligent and informed about many things that need attention, like the NIH and its ties to big Pharma and the military, the origin of the covid pandemic, etc. More than most politicians. I enjoy listening to interviews of him, and his podcasts. He’s a lawyer, did a lot for the environment, has an impressive memory, he’s active, stays in great shape, involved in his numerous kids’ lives. He’s calm, kind, compassionate. Even the so-called weird things are not that big a deal, like the bear cub central park story. I’ve known a lot of rich kids and heard a lot of stories of their various capers, so that one just falls under rich guys hi-jinks for me… granted he’s a little old for hi-jinks, but again their lives are never really normal- how could they be?

              What color? He’s very tan, just outdoorsy I suppose.

                I guess you’ve not been paying attention, or relying on the MSM that you hate, that has been aggressively ignoring or condemning him for the reasons I gave above (unsurprisingly). For a long while he was polling in the double digits which considering all that is extraordinary. He’s far more popular than any independent candidate since Ross Perot.

            Do you think I am making up the fact that he was polling at >20% for months? He has absolutely had an influence. If Trump wins he may end up with a cabinet position.

              All the struggle is yours, as is your choice to be rude to polite commenters who express opinions you don’t agree with. I like your blog but I agree with your own statements that you are not a nice person. I wouldn’t want to hang out with you in person, but so what? I’ll keep reading the blog (it’s interesting & entertaining) and making an occasional comment when I have an opinion to share.                 Clarissa has referred to her mother being a narcissist, and narcissists often traumatize their own children in just the right way for them to have their own issues, from a full-blown NPD to problems with self-esteem, getting along with other people, substance abuse, etc.

                I recognize my own mother when Clarissa lashes out like that. My mother is almost unable to process any kind of criticism. It is more painful than it should be for her self esteem and she tends to assume the speaker’s intent is to hurt her so she tries to hurt back in a similar way.

                The need to psychoanalyze people who have not asked you to provide psychoanalysis as a paid service is evidence of powerlessness. I don’t recommend going down that road because it doesn’t lead to good places for the person engaging in this practice.

                This is good advice offered in kindness but you decide if you want to follow it. Please remember, though, that all you see are words on a website. Any emotional charge you invest them with can only come from you.

                Thank you for your kind advice. You are absolutely right about powerlessness. If you grow up with an abusive parent, you end up psychoanalyzing them as you walk on eggshells around them. Psychoanalyzing your coworkers is sometimes necessary to resolve work conflicts.

                Basically, if you have power, you can do whatever you want, whereas if you don’t, you need to understand other people better to be able to predict and influence their behavior.

                Interesting, though I hesitate to psychoanalyze and I’ve always suspected it’s cultural, it could be a combination of the two. Certainly they are related. I’ve known some rude and arrogant women from backgrounds similar to Clarissa’s, who looked down on American women like she does as well. They are successful here, as they take advantage of the fact that most Americans are sweet and kind (and relatively naive) in comparison unlike their native countries. They feel superior, yet if everyone here acted similarly they’d be back in their home countries feeling miserable. Clarissa has described the nastiness of Ukrainians before she emigrated, the cruel things people would say casually to others (her attitude about Ukraine has changed considerably over time of course).

                I already explained that I am capable of separating the blogger from the blog. I also already explained why I automatically push back- nothing to do with emotions or upset.

                Anyway, my comment wasn’t addressed to you but thanks for your input. You keep doing you.

                As far as finding things to my liking, no, there really isn’t much out there. The old usenet days are long over, blogs always had issues and few left with active comment sections. I like arguing and debating, in a civil manner of course, but everyone is so sensitive these days (like on here). Doesn’t really matter anyway, and definitely not your problem to address.

                Also, how do you expect anybody to be able to tell one anonymous commenter from another and know what you specifically “already explained”?

                This is precisely why I keep telling you that you have intellectual limitations that prevent you from understanding what we are talking about here. In simpler terms, you aren’t very smart. I know you’ll experience this as rude and hurtful but it’s a simple statement of fact based on your own behavior.
