For everybody who keeps asking why I post no videos in English, yes, yes, you are right. Here is one just for you on the subject of the olfactory kerfuffle that erupted on Twitter/X in these past couple of days:
I hope nobody complains about the sound because this one was done with a microphone and it should have come out like a blasted loudspeaker.
OT (or _is_ it?): Left and Right united in hatred of western values.
James Lindsay has been talking about the dangers of the ‘woke right’ and/or Christian Nationalists (west hating right-wingers, often with a big dollop of anti-semitism and theocracy) for a while. Now, to make a point, he used a pseudonym and got (without too too much trouble) a Christian Nationalist publication to publish several pages of the Communist Manifesto (edited for modern American reference).

I keep talking about precisely this. Marxism was allowed to run so free and unchecked, it has penetrated the brains of pretty much everybody. And the worst part is that people have absolutely no idea that they are reciting woke dogma.

James Lindsay is a fucking moron and “woke right” is a meaningless term.
It’s a gatekeeping move by establishment conservatives to tarnish the image of the dissident, christian right. For example the dissident right believes in the exercise of power and to remake institutions in their own image, the same way the left has done over the last 50 years. Establishment conservatives are happy being beautiful losers and are still going on about outdated principles of limited government when it’s clear that these principles don’t mean anything anymore. So they see any move by the dissident right to retake institutions as a sort of parallel to what the woke left did to ostensibly neutral institutions.
Basically they’re happy being cucks and call anyone who doesn’t want to be the political version of Washington Generals as “woke right” in the hope that the label sticks.

This is why Christians shouldn’t have party loyalties.

Nice video, btw. And I agree that there should be a space for “non-productive” disciplines in any civilized society. How do conservatives get a space in the academy, now that’s a harder problem to solve. I submit that you can’t do this without some amount of government intervention. The academy is incapable of self-correction.

Yes. I’m depressed at the woke state the humanities are in, but not that they exist and “aren’t practical.”
For the record, I’ve seen kerfufflers who came to a similar conclusion and are having fairly intelligent (though still fairly reactive) conversations about it, but it’s not surprise that you haven’t seen them and they’re being drowned out by idiots.
What form would you see an alternative taking? At this point it seems difficult to change the universities, but it also seems difficult to effect change outside of them. I’ve seen some promising efforts but they’re very small scale.
