The key to learning *anything* in a foreign language, is accepting that you will sound like a total clown, and doing it anyway.

I sound stupid and mumbly even to myself.
It doesn’t help that German words are eminently unpronounceable. Although they sound beautiful in my head.

I actually found German very pronounceable. And weirdly I think my voice sounds better in German than in any other language….
And as for embarrassment taking a long time formulating a formal email and being proud of yourself and then seeing several mistakes just as you hit the ‘send’ button….
