Fellow is not wrong. I still can’t get over the amount of effort it is taking to prod the Brits from across the ocean into noticing the rape gangs on their soil. They are pouting all over social media that somebody is trying to kick them out of their torpor.
Weinstein raped a coworker of mine. She was not a “degenerate.”
And why are you OK with this “fellow” replacing the word “raping” with the phrase “chasing after”?

Do you have an explanation for why the only stories about Weinstein that reached the public space were the ones about mega rich actresses who were upset about their employability? Ronan Farrow’s reporting, for example, made the story about “degenerate actresses.” As a result, I’ve never heard or seen in a media any reporting about Weinstein doing anything beyond what this quote describes.
What can we conclude about the state of the media?

That’s terrible and I hope Weinstein rots in jail and I’m sure he was responsible for all manner of sexual assault and I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life in jail (a big dose of physical pain and suffering would be quite welcome).
Nonetheless, the biggest cases in the media were better described as quid pro quo deals that didn’t work out as well as the actresses had wanted. I never got why people were sooo upset that the casting couch didn’t lead to a stellar career…

FWIW, my coworker was not an actress or even in the arts. She was a business student (if memory serves).

I remember this woman returning to Buffalo from that very trip with Weinstein described here (everybody in the arts knew who Weinstein was). She had been so excited to have been going to New York City; she was now clearly very upset. Her former demeanour – open, friendly, chatty – never seemed to return. The change was so notable I never forgot it.
Also: I do not recall Ronan Farrow speaking of Weinstein’s victims in such a disparaging way.

Look, this type of men abuse those dependent on them. Those they can take advantage of. Being specifically an actress is not a defining characteristic here. (In this sense there is similarity with the British situation – those men also took advantage of whom they could abuse and get away with it.)
And even if there are actresses who want to promote their career by sleeping with the producer, the producer can always say no… (Same goes for any other line of work, like student/professor, junior/senior partner in some company, etc).

Why are feminists digressing from a massive criminal outrage to the “me too” nonsense?!?. Clarissa is the only self identified feminist, that I know of, raising any hell about the mass rapes in the UK. Even that perpetual mindless misandrist Jess Philips, with the grandiose title of The Under-Secretary of State for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls, is essentially as teats useless* as the rest.
*mansplaining for of absolutely no bloody value whatsoever;-D

Such a mega- coward and immigration apologist who can call sexual assaults “heckling” and ready to smear her own electorate.
With such people in charge of safeguarding the interests of women, it is a straightforward extrapolation to the horrendous apathy of authorities at display in not-so-Great Britain.
