For three years we begged Biden to close this loophole and he kept extending it. For three years, Europe and America said they stood with Ukraine while feeding the Russia murder machine. How is it possible not to be angry at treachery of such magnitude? Had this been done 3 years ago, there wouldn’t be any war today.
Agree. Actions do speak louder than words.
I’m just hoping there is some convoluted logic to tariffs on US’ closest friends and allies.

the logic, afaict, is that we need their cooperation on border enforcement, and to put a damper on the flow of meth and fentanyl across said borders. Both Canada and Mexico have been remarkably unhelpful on both these things, so far.

We had definitely not been checking potential terrorism threats sufficiently, not as bad as yours had been, but definitely insufficient. Most premiers and the feds have increased both personnel and equipment policing illegal immigration and drugs, but we appear to need more, particularly for the port of Vancouver. Because as drug movements in the USA slows we can expect a greater effort here. Meanwhile both our border agents and yours are trying; but this is the longest border in the world, there’s literally hundreds of miles where a farmer/rancher’s lonely barbed wire fence is the only sign of the border line.

apparently there have for many years been high tariffs on a variety of American products in many countries. For example, a 250% tariff on American dairy products in Canada.

You do know that the USA heavily subsizes most of it’s agriculture including the dairy industry, Canada has a quota system, essentially a cartel to keep dairy products high. There are estimates that USA supports to dairy farmers are nearly 73% of market returns or 250%. So quit trying to beggar your neighbours ;-D

God grant a just peace to our Christian brethren in Ukraine and Russia.

You should definitely look into Christianity. It might be helpful to you in what I assume is a very difficult situation.

Yes, the “delighted” is ugly.
I am very happy that the mask has fallen off, not that the Bidenreich got away with it for so long. Or that so many people helped support starting and maintaining the war in Ukraine. People who ought to have known better are finally admitting (if only to themselves) what they went all in on. I thought they never would.

The only party preventing a ‘just peace’ is russia. It was russia that invaded and russia that committed massive war crimes.
why do you want peace for the aggressor?

Both of you have a queer idea of what justice is.
Pray for peace. Pray for justice.
We aren’t likely to get either one, with the leaders we have, but God is more merciful than any of us – including the Russians – deserve.

What does justice in this case look like for you?

I have no idea. That’s in God’s hands. We have enough problems meting justice in our own backyards.
