Red Herring

Forget farms. This is all a distraction, a red herring. We all saw many reports of large groups of migrants, brought into small towns in Ohio, Alabama, Pennsylvania, etc in 2023-24. They were not working on farms. These were people receiving government assistance and living in government-provided housing. Have they been returned home?

The conversation keeps slipping towards migrants who have been in the US for quadrizillion years and have jobs. This is a manipulative trick. We need to talk about the people brought in last Fall. They are not picking any crops. Where are they and what is the impediment to asking them to leave?

    Just as much a red herring as “Look! Mexican flags! It’s a Mexican invasion!” and “But look at these cancer patients who need weed to get through chemo!” and “These gay men are nice monogamous polo-shirt-wearing people just like you!” “but what about women who get pregnant from rape” and “75% of homeless people find a place to live within 6 months!” and “if you don’t affirm them, they’ll kill themselves!”… yeah, that’s not what we’re talking about. It’s not what you’re talking about either. We all know it’s a deliberate strategy used by dishonest people to derail any chance of a sane discussion of the topic.

    Gotta stop caring about whether the propagandists portray you as a nice person or not. They’re not nice people, we’re not nice people. Nobody is nice people. Now that we’ve got that out of the way: is this working? For whom? Should we keep doing it?

      Exactly, the conversation always shifts into some imaginary terrain. We are easy to manipulate because we allow it. Plus, there’s no follow-through. All the election season discussions of Haitians in Ohio have suddenly evaporated. Haitians aren’t exactly known for their success in farming, so what happened to all those people?

          It’s a mystery what jobs these thousands of people found without speaking English. It’s also a great mystery how local schools are dealing with a sudden influx of kids who don’t speak the language and are utterly unfamiliar with any form of disciplined behavior.

    The impediment to asking them to leave is locating them. It’s much easier to snatch migrants after their court appointments. It’s much easier to grab random illegal immigrants instead of ones who have committed serious crimes.

      I know it’s hard for you but please try to concentrate. These are people living in government housing and receiving funds from the government for monthly expenses. This was mentioned earlier today.

      You keep pouting about comments regarding your intelligence but have you considered laying off pot? You might slow the cognitive decline if you get sober.

        Chronic pot use also makes you much more emotionally volatile. Hard to locate reason, when everything brings you to tears.

          Very true. People often don’t realize it but their sluggishness, depression, memory problems are caused by habitual por use.

            The worst part is, if you point out to them that, you know, you’re spending hundreds of dollars on supplements every month to combat depression, brain fog, memory trouble, etc. but… maybe you could save all that money plus some if you just quit smoking pot?

            Nope. Whatever it is it’s *definitely* not the pot, until they come to that realization all by themselves. Sigh.

    Where? I haven’t once defended my intelligence. I stick to the topic at hand and let you enjoy insulting me.

    I know truly brilliant people and not a single one has ever mentioned their IQ. The only ones that do are insecure people or failures who are slightly above average.
