Not a liberal but clear mental illness combined with main character syndrome. I have no idea who this Jasmine person is but I feel for her… at least in that moment and would point out that ‘was lovely about it’ means she was trying to cut short the cringe going on…

Oh, come on. The entire Dem leadership kneeled in vaguely African sachets for George Floyd. Jacob Frey, recently reelected mayor, knelt and wept over Floyd’s casket. Are they all “crazy”? You have a party that opposes medical board tests for racial reasons, declared that water is racist, BLMed it’s way to a couple dozen dead – is that all “mental illness”?

seriously? Crazy as in “memtally ill”? Sure, I’ll walk back that implication. But “crazy” as in histrionic grandstanding, genial self-humiliation, social media antics? Seems like there’s plenty of that to go around.

I joined the No Kings rally in our community.
And I heard America singing.
I heard America saying yes to the paradoxes of democracy,
Yes to the hopes of government
Of the people, by the people, and for the people,
No to debauchery of the public mind
No to personal malice nursed and fed
I saw the Hog Butcher for the World, and
The City of Big Shoulders.
I saw the purple mountains’ majesty.
I saw the land from the redwood forests to the gulf stream waters.
I saw America.
I heard America.
I felt America.
And with our community, we were America.
And I felt God’s blessing on the men and women who made America free.
What I saw, heard, and felt was so big, so beautiful, so glorious… I won’t soon forget.
And I sincerely hope that others get that experience sooner or later.
So I don’t blame that person for kissing Rep. Crockett’s feet–it’s a gesture a little too “out there” for me perhaps, but I would certainly, if I got a chance, go up to her and thank her. Sometimes something is just so big, the words fail, and we only have gestures, even foolish ones.

Well, sincerity by way of a lot of Carl Sandburg, with some Walt Whitman and Woody Guthrie thrown in. But yes, sincere.
Groypers are, from what I can tell… interesting. A lot of, “we’re tired of being lied to, so let’s tear it all down” energy, it seems. I get that, to a degree.

Well, with my late autism diagnosis and my anxiety (and maybe some depression, not sure), I suppose I could score some mellow medicinal weed. Might be worth looking into. But in deference to your superior wit, you might notice I’ve changed my name.
I actually do feel badly for you, though–America at its best is marching, chanting, standing up to evil, taking good ol’ Pete Seeger’s hammer and hammering out danger, warning, and love between our brothers and our sisters, and you’re unable to see it–unable to BE it. It’s a shame; you’re missing something.
Funny thing about this blog–I think I get more liberal every time I visit.
