Instead of going in circles and repeating the same thing, let’s look at this from a different angle. People want neoliberalism so badly that they are willing to lay down their lives for it. They are willing to accept the most terrible forms of torture for it. Here is an example:
Being gang raped for 6 hours is something that a neoliberal subject uses to develop her personal brand and to monetize. It doesn’t get any clearer than this. You’ll have to tear the gang rapists, the Somali “learing centers” and all the rest of it from her cold dead hands. She loves all of it and she won’t let it go. She’s not experiencing “suicidal empathy.” This woman’s world has no empathy in it at all. She’s in the business of monetizing the emotions we leak as we recoil from the story in horror.
When we see welfare become a criminalized free-for-all, when cities turn into shantytown dumps, when the middle class remains a distant memory and child-bearing is enthroned as class privilege, let’s remember that this came about because people passionately wanted it. Let’s remember that they wanted it so badly that some of them went into the streets and laid down their lives for it. And they wouldn’t do it if alongside with everything it takes away it didn’t give them something so big, so enjoyable that no sacrifice would be too small.
“People want neoliberalism so badly that they are willing to lay down their lives for it. They are willing to accept the most terrible forms of torture for it.”
Most people out there don’t want any of these extremes. We don’t want extreme neoliberal woke ideology, but we also don’t want untrained government goons shooting people in our streets over the slightest deviation.
I really don’t understand why we have to go from one extreme to the other.

Both extreme left wokism and current government goonish behavior have the exact same desire: population control and obedience to government authority.
Both want to control people, different purposes, but ultimately they want to achieve the exact same thing. “Stay home and save lives” has become “Stay home and obey government or get shot”
Both are equally repulsive to me.

This is a false analogy because I don’t stay home and haven’t changed my daily life in absolutely any way.

You didn’t stayed home and disobeyed Biden’s orders and nobody shot you for it. Protesting and not following COVID mandates should never get you roughed up or shot by government goons.

Biden ordered lockdowns? Really?
” Protesting”
Interference with law enforcement is not just ‘protest’… why do people think that it’s a good idea to physcially interfere with armed law enforcement officers?
I don’t get modern leftist/liberals… they prattle on about how Trump’s government is literally nazis and then act as if law enforcement is a bunch of unarmed twerps…
Protest is fine (I support that). If you’re gonna get physical though…. things will get physical and you probably won’t like the result.
Two people now dead because they thought laws didn’t apply to them.
I’m not crazy about the way ICE is operating but if you regard it as a life and death struggle then don’t whine when that’s what it becomes.

I would really like it if people mentioned what they think the alternative is. Should ICE not deport illegals from specifically MN? Or from anywhere? Should nobody ever get deported? What is the preferred course of action here?.

The latest killing of Alex Pretti he wasn’t interfering or endangering any officer. Watch the video if you haven’t and tell me where in there he’s reaching for or brandishing any weapon at anybody. There were six or seven ICE guys on top of him when they shot him dead.
The immediate lying by the administration and especially Steven Miller also erodes any trust.

Anything that doesn’t involve escalating and shooting American citizens. It’s not that hard. But when you want to establish a 10k deportation army and don’t have time to properly train or vet, you get situations like Alex Pretti and it’s going to get a lot worse. Trump will end up losing the immigration debate because of this; most people don’t want to see untrained trigger happy masked men escalating situations and killing American citizens, and that’s exactly what is happening.

Ok, so what is the alternative, then? What is this “anything” that could be done and is not getting done?
ICE in MN shows up to arrest a convicted rapist illegal. They are blocked by a crowd that screams and tries to beat them. What should they d do? Go away and not arrest the illegal? Or what?

Pritzker ‘s orders. However, if police entered into the restaurants I visited in defiance of the closure orders and told us to leave, I would have, of course, left. If I started throwing myself at the police and they socked me in the jaw in response, I would have most certainly deserved it.

I find it strange that anybody would compare this behavior to me going to a restaurant during COVID.
This is why I keep saying I don’t like analogies.

in states and cities where criminals are locked up and then turned over to ice there is no chaos in the streets and no physical aggression of any kind. People are only getting shot in states that have refused to cooperate, let criminals out of jail to be sought in the community AND have politicians shouting to protest.
they have sought this unrest with everything they have. I still fail to see what they get out of it except some sense of meaning or purpose in opposing a Trump which has a religious furvor.

Trump is an insanely divisive leader. The constant and blatant lies also make the Biden administration look amateurish in comparison, so there is zero trust.
This was always going to happen and it’s going to get way worse as temperatures rise and we go into spring and summer.

Where I live it’s been a model of peaceful and orderly process. There’s a small group of these very insane people who create unnecessary chaos in MN and a couple of other places. Other than that, everybody is having a peaceful, calm time of it.
I also find it incomprehensible why getting hit in the face is a great way to pass the weekend. Both of the people shot in MN (may God rest their souls) are gay. Did they understand what the Somalis for whom they laid down their lives think of gays? Or Central American gangsters? You’d assume they like all the gay rights they enjoy. But instead they go die to bring about a society without those rights.

I want to make a new thread on this because it gets a lot of things wrong. In the multiple videos available:
1) Alex Pretti never interfered with the ICE agents. They pushed him, pepper sprayed him, as he was recording with one hand and had the other hand up in the air and backing away.
2) He never brandished a weapon at anybody.
3) The gun he was carrying was concealed on his body and taken away by an ICE agent.
4) After he was disarmed and with 6 or 7 ICE agents on him, he was shot in the order of 6 to 10 times.
Everything in the video indicates ICE instigated the confrontation, escalated the confrontation, and ultimately killed an American citizen that was not a threat to them.
