The Right Thing

Elon did the right thing:

Capital is proving much more nimble, responsive and influential than the state. I’m not glad about that but it is what it is.

  1. Why are you not happy that capital is, was, and forever will be far more nimble than the state? Lingering effects of youthful indoctrination?

Read Hayek. It is always and everywhere, a knowledge problem. Folks “on the scene”, will know far more about how to make whatever they’re doing, more productive than the most brilliant central planner, who can’t possibly have the local, specialized knowledge that those incentivized to maximize production to their own financial benefit will always have.

Every time, without exception, in any culture or setting, anywhere human beings exist, capitalism has been far more nimble and productive than socialism. But watch, Mamdani will claim, sooner or later, that “true socialism” has never been tried.

    1. Friends. Citizens. Human beings. Have I not used the n-word enough? Have I not written a whole book with the n-word in the title? Does anybody really need me to go on a rant about the nation-state and neoliberalism again?
