The problem with the Iran peace deal is that it implies that Israel will abide by its terms. The U.S. is not managing, and never managed in the past, to keep Israel under control. I don’t know what can possibly save the deal from collapsing. It was good, though. The oil and the gas prices started getting very pleasant.
To avoid such debacles in the future, it would be great if the American government sought advice from qualified people who understand cultural differences and regional politics.
Trump really really got himself (and us) into a pickle here. He simply cannot keep this war going for much longer. This war has cost $132 billion dollars so far and increasing. If Iran decides to close the strait again, we’re back to square one: gas prices shoot back up, stagflation gets worse, higher interest rates, etc. Not to mention this is one of the most unpopular wars ever from the beginning, like nobody was asking for this war.
He simply has to throw Israel under the bus as he’s doing right now, or really put them on a leash by delaying or full-on stop weapons delivery to them. The USA needs to start throwing its weight around Israel and stop acting like the junior partner in this very one sided relationship. We do have the means to put a stop to Israel’s never ending war mongering, we just decide not to.

I agree. That’s the only way. Israel has its purposes and goals. I understand that, but I don’t understand why our country has to be in this situation because of these purposes and goals. This has become completely ludicrous. The current government of Israel is turning their country into an incredibly toxic place on the world arena and for US citizens for generations to come. I have no idea what it is that they think their long game here is. This does not seem very well thought through.
