The Opposite

Wow, I’m the exact opposite:

I don’t do it on purpose or anything. But at home, I’m with two people whose company actually brings me joy. People at work, in the meantime, are wonderful people, but I don’t exactly need them around.

Also, at home I’m very goofy. If I indulged in that kind of goofiness at work, it would get creepy.

Yeah. My “best self” is the one that doesn’t have to constantly self-assess, self-edit, and self-censor because I’m in the company of people who can’t handle my real self. At home is where everybody already knows I’m a weirdo.

Interesting. Some children behave like that – in school they are perfect angels, but a terror at home. Perhaps part of the problem is work, and another part is that the person never learned to self-regulate. She may need to find a quiet place for 15 minutes somewhere to transition away from work. A drive home can provide some of this time, but if a person works from home, there is no buffer.

Exactly, this is extremely childish behavior.
