But wait, there’s more.

A same-sex couple in Ontario, Canada, is suing their surrogate mother in Ontario Superior Court (filed May 2026) after she refused their request to abort the child at around 22 weeks gestation upon discovering a cleft lip (with possible cleft palate and a minor heart defect)

No, wait, there’s even more.

The child in question is 2 years old at the time of the lawsuit. The “parents” are suing the woman who gave birth against their wishes to the child they are now raising. They’re trying to get $600,000 out of the mother for “emotional distress”.

Once again, the child already exists. These horrible people have that poor child in their home. All the while, they find the child’s existence extremely traumatizing and in need of a gigantic financial remedy.

Surrogacy needs to be banned, always, everywhere, and completely.

In Italy, where surrogacy is totally prohibited – with very high financial penalties and incarceration for anyone involved, from the medical personnel involved to the prospective “parents” – surrogacy was made a universal crime in 2025.

In practice, however, it’s extremely difficult to prosecute the couples who engage in it abroad, since they come back with all the documents in order from the country where surrogacy is legal.

As far as I know, not one couple has been prosecuted so far.

Our church absolutely prohibits surrogacy. And this is a relief and comfort to me.

i just don’t get why gay couples feel entitled to “make” and pay for new babies. They can adopt. I feel there’s a certain arrogance in their doing so. Plus, why decide to get a baby when you’re a single gay man and about 50 years old (I’m thinking of you, Anderson Cooper)? Your poor kid will just be starting adulthood as you become elderly and may soon be unable to live on his own without assistance. Doesn’t seem like a good plan, unless you’re selfish, IMO.
