In Nothing Left, Evan Barker tells about the strain of casually delivered race-based insults and humiliations she experienced starting in 2021 in the progressive movement. I know exactly what she’s talking about. I experienced the same in academia. It became fashionable to insult people because of their race in a very casual manner.
And it wasn’t one or two situations. It was an unrelieved environment of vilifying people to their faces for being white.
It’s rare for me to find a demexiter as similar to myself as Barker. The details are different (I left earlier, I never became particularly enamored with the left, etc.), but the broad themes are similar. The slow realization that Democrats no longer care about normal people in the Midwest was especially relatable.
I also find a lot of similarities, especially the part where she started watching right-wing podcasts, justifying it to herself as wanting to know the opponent a little better. I did that too. “This is simply research. I am only trying to understand these people.”

It genuinely did start as simply research for me. But then I thought they made a lot of good points lol. I think Tucker at his best was especially appealing to dissatisfied Dems.
The author still seems to be in the bargaining phase, where she has some small level of hope that the Democrats could get their act together in her lifetime. I personally have given up, but it’s probably good that some people are still trying.

Sanchez’ policies are suicidal. They’ve got another 100+ million African immigrants that would love to try this again and again knowing Spanish and European law protects them once they set foot in Ceuta/Melila.
I’m just glad we have an ocean between us and Europe. I don’t think Europe will do well with all these immigrants.

It’s over for us, at least in the short term.
The other time this happened it took 500 years (711-1212 Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa) to start to get rid of the invaders.
I suppose it might be done again, but I won’t be here to see it.
That’s it, we’re done for, it’s over for us Europeans who still remember what Europe was like when it was still European, i.e. people born before 1992. Again, the similarities are uncanny, since it was in 1492, 500 years to the day, that the last Islamic state was extirpated from the Iberian peninsula.
In other news, mainstream media are covering up the attacks on homes, businesses, women, children and the elderly. It is utter and naked horror.

Repelling the invasion required a Europe unified under Christianity. Don’t reckon we’ll see that again any time soon.
