That there’s so much auto fiction these days is not good. Almost none of the writers have the self that is interesting enough to merit such detailed attention. They keep palpating their over-inflamed sore egos, and readers with similarly pus-filled egos watch them, mesmerized.

The good news is there seems to be a growing backlash against autofiction. As someone with no interest in reading this kind of navel gazing, I’m glad to see it.
