People are freaking out about this because they are not extremely smart, to put it mildly:

This is an effect of deportations. The Trump administration is delivering on its immigration promises. But people are so invested into ridiculous gender wars that they are incapable of figuring it out. They look at a piece of excellent news and wail to the skies because they’re so blinded by irrational emotion that they can’t understand what the news is actually about.

There is a male equivalent of Lindsey Clancy’s supporters. They feel robbed, wounded, and persecuted by women, just like the Clancy women, feel robbed, abused, and persecuted by men.
