There’s a Peruvian writer named Gustavo Faverón Patriau. Some people have all the luck, name-wise. It’s such a great name one thinks it must be invented.
To complete the circle of injustice, he’s also insanely talented. He writes these rambling, brilliant, very Latin American novels about 20th-century dictatorships. Faverón Patriau is similar to the British writer John Galsworthy in that he was born 30 years too late and missed the time when his literary project could gain a lot of recognition.
