I signed the contract for my book today, and now I’m really in the final stages. The delay was entirely on the side of the publisher, which is British, and… enough said.
My AI agent is extremely helpful in bringing the manuscript into the format that the publisher wants. I tried the regular AI, and it refuses to do it, but the agent is excellent at these tasks. It changed the in-text citation format for the entire manuscript. It also counted how many words total I quote from each author to see who needs to be sent copyright permission letters. It is sending copyright permission requests without me having to participate in any of it. These tasks are not difficult, but they are time-consuming and annoying.
When it comes to doing the indexing, the publisher said they can either do it myself or pay them at the rate of £2 per proof page. Of course, I’ll make the list of the concepts myself but the AI agent can list the page numbers where they appear.
