Ready for Winter

People were eager to see the very light pink faux fur coat, so here it is:

Tomorrow’s show will be about Canada, its immigration policy, the recent riots in Montreal, and the need to unseat Trudeau as soon as possible.

On the positive side, I’ve pretty much decided to write a book on Canadian literature in Ukrainian when I go on sabbatical. Now I have to read up because I have no organizing idea yet. You will be the first people to know once I figure it out.

A Self-own

Holy moly. MAGA is losing their mind over an uncovered video from 2016 where Donald Trump says people should use the bathroom they feel is inappropriate and speaks out against trans bathroom bills. RT this so MAGA implodes.

I’m seeing a lot of such comments about Trump, Nancy Mace, and others. It’s supposed to be a gotcha of some sorts but it’s the opposite. Everybody who today is horrified by what “trans rights” have become started from the baseline of wanting to be kind and accommodating on this issue. Everyone, including me. And including, clearly, Trump.

We all fell for the line that it’s such a small thing, such a tiny group of people, such a rarity, let’s just humor them in this tiny, unimposing aspect, it’s the kind thing to do.

We all as a society were prepared to humor and be kind. But our kindness was turned against us. We saw male rapists in female jails. We saw girls beaten into a disability on a sports field. We were publicly and shrilly diagnosed with non-existent mental illnesses for not believing that men are actually women. I was directed at my job to remove all syllabi that are “transphobic.” You know what that means? It means the ones that mention the words “woman” or “man”, “male” or “female”.

Progressivism is the mentality of unimpeded, constant movement. It’s always in search of more, more, more. Any concession leads to more demands. You’ll have to stand up to progress sooner or later because otherwise there’s no end to this journey.

So yeah, we changed our minds. We all collectively decided that our kindness has been abused enough. The hand that we extended as a gesture of goodwill and consideration has been spat into. Our generosity has been turned into a cudgel to beat us into submission.

We changed our minds. I used to wear a Hillary Clinton badge the size of a dinner plate and now I vote for Trump. Trump was a New York liberal and now he’s not. There’s an exodus of Biblical proportions from your side because nobody can take your incessant demands any more. But go on, keep pouting and demanding. We can use more people on our team.

No Relief

I’m in Canada, wearing my new light pink faux fur coat specially for the occasion. And guess what? It’s bloody summer here, too. I’m fine outside in short sleeves.

We are driving up North on Wednesday, hoping to get some relief there.

Does anybody have any suggestions for what I should discuss on this week’s show? I’m too frustrated by the weather to think of anything.

Human Rights Destroy Actual Rights

Here’s yet another illustration of why I consider people who unironically use the expression “human rights” to be clinically retarded:

The Ontario Human Rights Tribunal has found the township of Emo will have to pay damages after refusing to proclaim Pride Month back in 2020.

Borderland Pride requested Emo to declare June as Pride Month and display a rainbow flag for one week but the township refused, resulting in a years-long process in which the tribunal ruled against the township.

The tribunal ruled Borderland Pride will be awarded $15,000, with $10,000 coming from the township itself and the other $5,000 coming from Emo mayor Harold McQuaker.

In Ontario, it’s now “a human right” to force other people to put up a rainbow flag. As I’ve been explaining for months, a right is whatever a specific interest group can recruit institutions of power into supporting. There are no vague human rights floating in the air outside of the societies we build. Whatever is or is not “a human right” depends on who in society has a larger stick to beat everybody else into submission.

The shift in usage from “rights” (meaning, a specific list codified in the foundational documents of the nation-state) to “human rights” (a meaningless expression that is supranational by its very nature) allows to expand into infinity the list of petty grievances of invented identities under the rubric of humanity-wide interests. “Human rights” exist to deprive us of our constitutional or charter rights.

Why German?

N says he finds it curious that of all the languages I could have chosen, I went with German.

“Doesn’t it give you a bad feeling because of the Holocaust?” he asks.

But the German Jews killed by the Nazis were also speakers of German. The language was just as much theirs as anybody else’s.

Judging by the Germanic last names of my Jewish grandparents, we have roots in the upper left quadrant of the map. It’s not surprising then that I’d choose German as my next language.

The Jobs Americans Will Do

Americans are about to learn how to
-maintain their own lawns
-clean their own house
-make home repairs themselves
-grow a home garden

Everyone nostalgic for the 1950s might not realize what that actually entails.

https://x.com/jasoncoxnc/status/1860761597783781442?t=zb4-uTFNpMUcD3qrU08gFg&s=19

We hire people to mow our lawn, clean our house, make home repairs, and deliver sprouts. Every single one of these great folks is a native-born American.

It’s a lie that Americans “won’t do these jobs” so impoverished migrants must be herded in to do them. Americans absolutely do them and do them well. But you can’t underpay them, abuse them, and condescend to them. If you are fine with that, there won’t be a problem.

The cynicism of the people who want to take jobs away from an American cleaning lady and an American lawnmower because they can underpay a migrant is truly shocking. My mower is a veteran and my sprout lady is a homeschooling mom of four, including one special needs child. What are they supposed to do if they get replaced?

A Mystery Q&A

I can’t extract a link out of these questions. I see them as images. Is it the post about Russia recruiting Houthis to fight in Ukraine? If so, I have no confirmation on that and don’t want to post before I’m completely sure.

Boredom and Progress

Boredom is the engine of human progress. We slept in today, and Klara wandered around the house on her own. She got bored. Then she got very bored. Then she decided to make a model of our house and created a detailed project that is inventive and really cool.

I don’t hide the remote control from her. Neither did I install parental controls or anything like that. It’s unnecessary because she imitates what she sees, and we don’t have the TV running in the background or flip through channels to dispel boredom.

Liberals Condemn Chaos

It’s impossible not to feel contempt for these empty condemnations of what Trudeau himself carefully engineered and aggressively implemented. Liberals do everything to create chaos, and then act shocked when they achieve exactly what they want.

When a liberal uses the word “condemnation”, know that some really outrageous manipulation is taking place.

It’s All on You

I think it’s very important to provide accommodations for disabled people.

However, don’t disabled people have some responsibility to inform complete strangers about their disability in advance so that accommodations could be prepared? During the hiring process, it’s illegal for me to ask, “Are you disabled?” There’s no legal pathway for me to ascertain who might need accommodations and then provide them. I’m also not authorized to provide anything “just in case.”

We have all collectively engineered a situation where everybody is too scared to ask anything lest feelings be hurt and imaginary oppressions occur. This means people must take responsibility for their own needs. It’s not possible to have a community in this environment of suspicion and assumed guilt. Do for yourself, then, and don’t assume anybody else will risk their neck to help out. We don’t have a high-trust society. We have a litigious society that loves to hunt for microagressions. I’m presumed guilty of trying to oppress everybody from the get-go.
