On the eve of the 14th anniversary of my exceptionally happy marriage, a social media app is offering me an article on “the joys of being single and how to be adventurous on the dating market.”
Who makes these apps that can’t figure out basic facts about a person?
For years, I was lukewarm on Israel. I equated it with its birth-twin Pakistan; I didn't see the need for a Jewish ethnostate; I wondered whether it was simply more trouble than it's worth. Recent events & especially the reaction to them have made me a Zionist. pic.twitter.com/4DXv4VbZM5
I know what she means. I became a Zionist on October 7, 2023. Whatever Hamas intended to achieve, they ended up turning many people who were tepid towards Israel into ardent, passionate supporters.
Also, people with teenage kids, please talk to them about this. They are hearing incredible garbage on social media. Show them the river and the sea on the map. They are being told that “from the river to the sea” means “support human rights everywhere”. That’s the prevalent narrative on TikTok and Instagram in the teenage age bracket.
Spanish MSM are referring to this as “a couple hundred people”. As usual, the establishment press would state the most bizarre lies as if people had no eyes and couldn’t see for themselves.
For those who don’t know, the leader of the Socialist Party in Spain forgave the Catalan separatists who had broken the law, violated the Constitution, and have been hiding from the justice in Brussels. The Socialist leader needed the separatists to support his bid for power and believes he can shred the Constitution if it’s politically expedient.
Of course, this isn’t just about the nasty Catalan separatists (who, by the way, are woke and pro-Russian). The people of Spain are tired of observing the far-left government shitting on Spain, destroying the economy, and instituting the most outlandish, anti-national policies imaginable.
Even Spaniards are all of a sudden raising their national flag. It’s pretty amazing to see today’s manifestation because it’s such a contrast with the pouty, childish 15-M protests of 2011.
For 12 years, the people of Spain observed the terrible consequences of the 15-M and have finally figured out that you can’t be against something but refuse to offer an alternative. It’s not enough to know what you oppose. You must figure out what you support. Spain is finally figuring it out, and that’s great news.
Klara caught a stomach bug at school and has been unwell. Finally, she fell asleep and had a dream about a sick little chicken called Esmeralda. I’ll never find it anything less than amazing that she’s a whole separate human being with her own inner world that is completely different from mine.
First, she’s a little pulse on a screen at 5 weeks of pregnancy, and then she’s a person with a subjectivity populated by little chickens called Esmeralda.
I can’t get over the sheer miraculousness of this.
The Palestinian professor is gathering signatures to support Palestinian students who might get persecuted “in the aftermath of the events of October 7”. The letter acknowledges that there have been zero instances of such persecution on our campus but the letter is still needed just in case because there has, the letter claims, been horrific persecution of Muslims around the country. The words “Jewish” and “Jews” aren’t mentioned in the letter even once.
I’m willing to bet large sums of money that every professor with a Jewish last name will sign because being accepted by the in-group is more important than anything else.
There has been zero action of any kind by Jewish faculty and students. The three Palestinians we have on campus are conducting one successful event after another while the Jewish side is non-existent. And please, don’t say they are afraid. Their only fear is to be shunned as “racists” by the rest of the Left.
Since 2014, in the occupied territories Russians engaged in kidnappings, torture, and murder of Protestant Ukrainians. One of the most horrific mass murders was that of several members of the Pentecostal church who were dragged away during the Pentecost church service, tortured, raped, and murdered. The killers searched for the pastor but he managed to hide.
Please think about these innocent Ukrainians, murdered by Russia for their religious faith, whenever you hear the lies about the lack of religious freedom in Ukraine. Those lies are spread by the same people who have been murdering Protestant Christians in the occupied territories.
Yes, there is religious persecution in Ukraine. It’s conducted exclusively by the Russians on the territories they control.
As soon as Klara adds a new dish to the very limited repertoire of what she eats, she immediately drops something off the list. It’s like there’s a certain number of slots and new ones can’t be added.
I was so happy when all of a sudden she started eating pelmeni. Pelmeni are a godsend. She hasn’t eaten anything in the pelmeni family since a short-lived interest in ravioli when she was 3,5.
And then I discovered that pelmeni have displaced a previously deeply loved Mac and cheese. And I need her to like Mac and cheese because that was one of the only two typical American foods on her menu. She doesn’t eat burgers, tacos, chips or fries of any kind. She eats cheese pizza but that’s it.
I can’t complain because she eats borscht and soup any time of day, and fresh vegetables are always a hit. But nobody can cook borscht every two days. One needs easy solutions.
