Overwhelmed

I’m done with my service obligation, my Skype lecture and my regular lecture, and now I’m sitting here, feeling completely overwhelmed. I still have to give another lecture on the poetry of Juan Ramon Jimenez and have meetings with my independent researchers today.

The Skype lecture went great. I hope the prof who invited me to give it will come by the blog and confirm that it went well. The students were good, seemed interested, took notes. I’m very happy with how it was.

But now I look like what you see in the photo. If I don’t forget, tomorrow I will show you how I look after my psychological hygiene measures.

  1. The lecture went great! You are better than I am to condensate a significant amount on information and complex ideas in little time while being clear all the time. Where it took you 30 minutes it would have taken me +90 minutes.

But somehow I wish the janitor lady had interrupted the lecture!

Also, I wrote on your blog this week but I just found out that because I have a new office computer I am a ‘registered’ reader of your blog and my comments were never posted.

    1. Thank you, my friend. 🙂 Of course, it would have been much more fun with the janitor. 🙂

      – Hah! I have no idea where they went because they are not in the spambox. Weird.

      1. They are nowhere. I thought I posted them, and I close your blog page thinking that I posted them, but not. So my comments on the CUNY debacle are lost forever! And now I have just realized that I can see who wrote comments on the right side of the screen!

I like the Skype interview format a lot. It is an excellent use-of-technology-in-the-classroom. I do not want videoconferences to substitute invited talks, though.

          – I would so LOVE to have a budget that would allow me to invite people to come and give talks. Well, maybe one day.

    1. Not yet. 😦 I’m still stuck here at least until 5 pm. But then oh but then. . . 🙂

I’m very glad you liked it. Thank you for giving me such a great introduction. I now feel very important. 🙂 I especially liked the “ha publicado un monton” part. 🙂

        1. Remember that I’m older than you and have had more years in my life to publish. Old age has its benefits. 🙂

Your work is very groundbreaking and important. There is no need to feel apologetic for it.

  2. Oh yes. Is it not weird?. I have had a lot of problems at home wanting to use Skype and now at the airport going back home to sunny San Diego the skype connection seems to be fine. But of course friends that I wanted to talk to are not available….ah
