You remind me of my best friend. She got a similar tea collection. 🙂

I’m living with a Russian whose idea of the end of the world is not having 5 varieties of tea in the house. 🙂
Great photo, by the way.

I have a question: Do Russians like tea? Do they like it only in a casual way, is it preferred over coffee, do they have a culture and rituals about tea, etc.?

Oh God, they are obsessed with it! Drinking tea is an all-day-long ritual for the Russians. It’s what they do in every life circumstance.

Wow, that’s a lot of tea. My favourite is builders’ tea Yorkshire Gold in bags. So strong you can stand your spoon up in it. Mmmm. I’m ecstatic I can now get it in a shop in Montpellier. Tea is not a delicacy for me, it’s a twice-daily life-saver. 🙂

I don’t understand people who only have one kind of tea in the house. You have to have different teas for different occasions and moods, right?

Do you drink mate? (I know that you specialize in Spanish literature but you seem to like Argentina too.) Mate is one of my all time favorite teas! 🙂

I LOVE mate. I also love bringing it to class and showing students how I take it. They always ask in hushed little voices, “You take drugs?” 🙂
