OK, I’m also unhappy that the background check proposal tanked in the Senate but the following is simply stupid:
According to this logic, nobody should ever be brought to trial for crimes committed suing a gun because the people responsible are these Senators.

It is true that gun-related fatalities will remain high as a direct result of these senators’ actions. But I agree that blaming them for any given incident of gun crime is ridiculous unless they personally pull the trigger.
I mean why stop with them? Why not the people who manufacture the guns, or mine the metal the guns are made of out of the ground, or invest in the mining companies, or really, anyone who contributes in any way to the society in which such shootings take place.

– Exactly! The senators are idiots for not passing the bill but they are no criminals until they are put on trial for their own crimes.
