The Unbearable Cuteness of Cuban Immigrants

The only immigrant group that is more hopeless than mine is that of the Cubans.

A very irate gentleman was soaking in the Gulf of Mexico surrounded by a group of worshipful ladies. He was using the opportunity to impress them with his knowledge of history delivered in a heavy Cuban accent.

“And do you remember that time when Castro said he would let everybody leave if they wanted to? And he even provided the airplanes for those who wanted to escape from Cuba?”

“Yes. . .” the ladies responded breathlessly.

“What you don’t know is that those airplanes took Cubans straight to Siberia. Where they were all killed!”

“No!” the ladies gasped.

“Yes!” the man barked. “All of them were shot on the spot, including small babies.”

I had to swim away because I was afraid laughing so hard would make me drown.

    1. Do you have any doubt that the people he is denying tornado relief will all vote for him tomorrow because it matters a lot less to them than preventing women from controlling their reproductive choices and preventing gays from marrying?

People keep voting for these freaks and get exactly what they bargain for.

Anyone who could say that has obviously never met a British immigrant to Ireland. 😛

  2. I have heard Cubans allege that Fidel went to Africa to get extra Black people and bring them to Cuba, just to make fun of existing Cubans and say ha, ha, ha, I am going to oppress you by making you live next to even more Black people and you cannot do a thing about it. (Then they turn around and say there is no racism in Latin America….)

    1. I think it’s somewhat of a strawman. People who know words like “rendition” and can identify Ahmed Chalabi cannot possibly hold the “US is a force for good” worldview.

Depending on how large the payments are, this sounds like something that can really mess up women’s job histories. Also, I don’t understand this “full-time” references to housespousery – with modern technology, one can easily take care of all the around-the-house tasks in 1 hour/day. Of course, people who form their identity around how they keep their house will make work for idle hands, whether that’s endlessly complicated homecooked meals, wiping the dust off a gajillion porcelain figurines, hell-knows-what crafting sort of thing or helicopter parenting, but I don’t think governments should pay for people’s hobbies.
